I suppose that's why it hasn't been done yet. Seems the FAA should have all that information somewhere.

Here's a few thoughts: Check the output capability of your charger. Perhaps one with a higher amperage output would keep up with your iPad. Some USB cables only transfer a limited current/amperage. Maybe try a different cable. I have something similar to this...
