I disabled Traffic Alerts this morning

A question about Traffic Alerts: When landing I know the "Alerts" for pattern type traffic are turned off, but is their visibility as a target turned off as well? On flights with several aircraft on straight in approaches targets near me just disappear as we near the runway. Others in the...

Unable to get Bluetooth NMEA data to communicate from X7

I forget by who, but a request was made sometime ago for iFly to automate or at least streamline the connection process between a BT adapter and the EFB. Meanwhile, I'm just happy to get a reliable connection every time!

    New iFly Tablet NMEA output

I have been using the iFly BT NMEA out function for close to 200 hours now with my Android tablets and a TrioEZ Pilot with complete success, but with a DSD TECH SH-23A adapter. I have seen the failed BT connection message a few times before, but it only happens when I fail to close out...

    No spoken traffic alerts 13.3.53

Flying this morning with close by traffic, I get the text notifications, audio dings and emergency sirens, but no voice readout? Sound levels up on my tablet. The audio alert setting confirms that I should be hearing traffic position, any suggestions of where to look to get the audio activated?

    Version 13 for Windows!

Just installed 13.3.43 and when minimized it is still running and loading the CPU heavily, 33 to 40%. Brian is aware of this issue.

    13.3.24 Radar and Terrain display

I listed two display issues in my opening thread. The dark blocks in the radar depiction in the first screenshot were resolved by lowering the opacity from the older version's setting by an additional 15%. The large blocks in the terrain background shown in the second screenshot can be fixed...

    Version 13 for Windows!

Installed 13.3.24 which performed well for a few minutes, and then the black screens started to show up especially when minimizing and attempting to bring it back up to full screen. Panning around will also crash it. One thing I noticed is the cpu load (as compared to 11.1.42) is very high; 27...

    13.3.24 Radar and Terrain display

Thanks Cobra, I remember well the referenced thread, and I fully agree with you and much prefer the raw image. My main complaint however, is how the light areas of precip now show up as almost just large black blocks. My previous version had a much better presentation of the weather radar. (My...

    13.3.24 Radar and Terrain display

Version 13.3.24 was automatically installed recently replacing 12.2.34. Flying with .24 this morning I found the vector map to be really screwy. The weather radar display was blocked with the colors distorted and the terrain was displayed in large blocks with different elevation resolutions...

Recommendations for 7-8 inch Android tablet for iFly

Ditto for Gatormyk's comment on brightness, but with it strapped to my leg it can be moved about as needed to eliminate glare and I have no problem reading it in my RV-3.

Recommendations for 7-8 inch Android tablet for iFly

I'm flying with a Lenovo M9 in my RV-3 on my leg using a strap / clip. A very nice 9" tablet for $100.

    Higher Resolution Charts and Plates

Are you comparing a SkyVector image downloaded from the web to an iFly image stored on your device? If I compare the SkyVector image to the iFly web image on my PC, I don't see any difference at all. Do you think the resolution of the stored image is probably a compromise between file size...
