Using my Samsung S23 phone with the app when I touch an airport it will no longer pop up with the airport info.

The only way to get airport info is to go to the flight plan and select the airport from there. This doesn't help in flight since I would have to create a new flight plan just to access an airport information screen.

Wondering if this is a bug?

Most likely, this is not a bug, but a misunderstanding of how the QuickView popup window works.

Normally, the default behavior for this window is to show the Airport data if you tap on (or very close to) an airport. For many users, this is primarily how they use the window, and so this is the behavior they are used to seeing.

However, if you tap a different tab on that window (WX, ASPC, NAV, or TRFC), then that becomes the new default for that session. Even if you tap on (or very close to) an airport, the QuickView window will continue to show data related to the tab that was most-recently selected.

While this behavior makes sense--iFly is assuming that if you were interested in the tab you selected a second ago, you will continue to be interested in that tab as you continue to tap around the screen--it can be disorienting to users who are only familiar with the QuickView window popping up with Airport data when they touch the screen.

So: The next time this happens to you, just tap the APT tab on the QuickView window to get back to the Airport data. Then, tap around on other airports and see if the behavior is back to what you're expecting.

Does this explain the behavior you saw?

No. There is no quick view pop up window at all when I tap or press on an airport. This feature has stopped working.

I have been using IFly GPS since the 500 series so I'm very familiar with the system.

What version of iFly are you using?

Your post title says "after recent update". Do you mean after an aviation data update, or after updating from a previous version of iFly to the version you're using now?

Can you get a QuickView window at all (i.e., tapping elsewhere on the map besides airports)?

FWIW, I have a Samsung S24 phone and have not observed this behavior. I am currently running beta version 13.3.1.

If you have not yet submitted a bug report from within the app, I would recommend you do so: https://adventurepilot.community.fo...a-bug-report-from-within-the-ifly-efb-app.26/

By chance do you have the box checked for "Enable Simple Map Marker"? This will disable the Quick View Popup.

Today I learned! I've never toggled that setting before...

Specifically, it's at Menu > Setup > Map Settings > Enable Simple Map Marker.

(Though I'd be surprised if that's the OP's problem, since it warns you you're about to disable the QuickView popup.)
