I have had Ifly for over a year now and have been able to use it often. It is definitely a learning curve despite the user manual. I really enjoy the interface, large displays, and buttons as well as the look and feel in general.
I have been able to use the app extensively on several domestic long-haul flights. Often times the other pilot has ForeFlight and we end up comparing the two EFBs. I am always amazed at the features. The other pilot will communicate that ForeFlight has and I communicate Ifly has as well.
Sometimes I show the comparison page with all of the other EFBs And the other pilot is impressed. I will say that, despite having so many features for the price, Ifly is still quite “glitchy”. It has been communicated on several occasions that the current state of the iFly EFB is not in the spirit of how it was originally intended. I think it is going in a good direction and there’s a very good tool.
I also believe that if the app is going to be marketed as an EFB, with all of those features in the comparisons, then all of those features need to work all of the time. The ForeFlight app clearly works 100% of the time and is very reliable. I hope that as this app progresses glitches and bugs are worked out, requested features are incorporated and the product Itself is much more reliable.
Thanks for all. I look forward to the updates, improvements.
