HITS Orange Box

I should probably know this by now, but what is the significance of the orange box on the Highway In The Sky? It come rapidly after some of the distance driven white boxes.

The magenta/white box is a gross indication of your flight path, and the orange box is a more precise indicator in the center of that larger box. It's not really "after" the larger box; it's just that the border of the larger box flies out of your field of view before you penetrate the plane of the box.
