How do you connect the Stratus 3i to iFLY? I have friend that would like to switch to iFLY. His airplane has a Stratus transponder and Stratus 3i ADS-B receiver.

connect the computer with ifly to the stratus via wifi. I do not passwd protect the stratus, it makes it easier to do. In ifly go to setup - adsb and select the stratus III option. Watch the counters and verify data is being transmitted. On an ipad install stratus horizon pro and verify that you are using the open ads-b mode. That is needed to get traffic and weather. If someone connects with foreflight it will try to put it into foreflight mode. They must cancel that or you lose your traffic and weather. Foreflight will work in open adsb mode (also called capstone mode). It can take a min or more for everything to connect. Even if you have the connection set to automatic, the first thing I check if not working is the wifi connection and that is usually the problem. Manually tell it to connect and all should be good. Do not let cellphone users connect to the stratus. They will not get internet and it could screw you up. If they have ifly on their phones it would be ok to use. You'll have to check how many connections stratus 3 allows. We routinely fly with 3 things connected. 2 ipads and the avidyne.

yes this works with the stratus 3i. I have an aspen efd1000pro max, avidyne ifd440, stratus esg transponder and stratus 3i and use iflyefb on my ipad. The only one that does not connect directly to the stratus is the aspen it gets its info from the avidyne. The ipad is primarily used for the ifd100 app to give me a bigger screen for the ifd but at times I run ifly if the ifd100 app acts up. Ifly gets used when practicing partial panel flying as it has an instrument screen you can use with the map.

I have 3 aircraft, two with the Stratus ESG and 3i, one with just the Stratus 3. ifly works great. In one plane I have the same setup as khafner, Aspen, IFD440, and Stratus esg with 3i. Works as he said.

One word of caution with the Stratus 3, if you fly with a buddy that brings along their tablet running Foreflight, warn them off of clicking on "Activate Stratus for Foreflight?". This will highjack the connection to your iFly as Foreflight uses their own data format. The Stratus 3 will only work for Open ADSB or Foreflight, not both at the same time. I had this happen a couple of times and it took some time to figure out what was happening.
