    Auto update airport WX display

Greetings, I have a tablet, and old phone running in the plane. Yesterday I noticed more wind than expected at the airport I was heading to, and pulled up the more detailed WX info by tapping on the airport then WX. I figured I'd just leave that box open to see the more detailed info as it...

Any word on the new iFly unit?

AP makes their software to run on all platforms, so I have to believe they won't try to make autopilot a proprietary feature for the new device. My Tripltek is out for delivery today. Not sure when it will get installed and tested, but I do have two 740b units that I expect to be sold pretty...

Any word on the new iFly unit?

I asked about this recently, and was told that iFly Connect only worked with the previous units. Pity because that was a great feature. https://adventurepilot.community.forum/threads/ifly-connect-for-other-tablets.212/

Anyone aware of this (possible) new Adventure Pilot hardware device?

I think Tripltek has it beat. That's what I'll be ordering. If I thought I'd ever need to interface it with external autopilots or other gear, I might look into the connectivity more. For me it will just be a standalone device.

    iFly Connect for other tablets?

Thanks for the thorough reply. That all makes sense.

    iFly Connect for other tablets?

Greetings, I shopping for a replacement for the 740b, and I've been considering the new Tripltek 9 Pro. I see that others have used various other tablets. AP will eventually release some details on the recently teased announcement of their new iFly unit, probably right after I buy something...

Anyone aware of this (possible) new Adventure Pilot hardware device?

Don, How does the battery life seem? Any idea how long it would run on a full charge? I figure I likely wouldn't need to power it in flight for my local flying. Thanks, Rusty

Anyone aware of this (possible) new Adventure Pilot hardware device?

The Tripltek has a USBc 3.0 port. The question will be if the software can use it, and if any external hardware will be needed to convert to whatever interface the external device needs.

Anyone aware of this (possible) new Adventure Pilot hardware device?

If the Tripltek site has a labor day sale, it's over :-) One thing I really like about the 740b is the SD card updates using iFly Connect. I don't have any wifi in range of my hangar, and those updates take way longer than just popping in an SD card. I wonder if their new device will be able...

It does look like it, but they mentioned 800 nits, vs 1300 for the Tripltek 9. I'm ready to order the Tripltek, but I'm doing my best to hold out for more info on the AP unit. I'm not known for my patience though :-)

This is a pretty nice mount that would eliminate the problem of the cable sticking straight up. Not exactly light weight, but it looks well made from the video they link on their page. https://www.tripltek.com/product-page/tripltek-motorcycle-mount-for-t9

Anyone aware of this (possible) new Adventure Pilot hardware device?

Yes, that will be a negative for me since I only fly in portrait mode. Is the power connection a USB? I wonder if there's a 90 degree option for a cable to make it less of an issue. Of course from what I've read about the battery, it will far exceed any flying I'd do. I really wish AP...

Ditto on the Tripltek interest, and the new device from AP of course. I'd have to stick with the 8" Tripltek due to panel size, and I don't know where the new AP device will end up as far as size goes. It does sound like the AP will likely offer a lot more connectivity. Rusty

Does the 740b run the latest iFly version?

Thanks. That could certainly make my research a lot easier :-)

Does the 740b run the latest iFly version?

I ran across this after posting another question about updates. Is this still true, that this is the last version of software for the 740b? That would be unwelcome news. If true, I guess I'll have to start researching tablets.
