This will change the flight plan headings to magnetic north:
Menu > Setup >Units of Measure > Compass > Magnetic North
This will change the flight plan headings to true north:
Menu > Setup >Units of Measure > Compass > True North
These also change the Track and Bearing instrument. I suspect...
I understand now. It's not two "versions", it's two "instances" (of the same version) as the pop-up message states. The previous dialogue box asking you to identify a program wasn't asking which application to use to "save" the file, it asked which application you want to use to "open" the file...
When V14 is released to the public, it will be available in the app store. If you are a member of the beta test team, V14 beta releases are available in the Test Flight app.
Something that receives GPS signals from the GPS satellites is required to obtain a GPS lock. As mark.medic stated, a GPS receiving device that you connect via Bluetooth, WiFi or perhaps even via USB can be purchased for that function...
I couldn't find anything on the TPA for T41, which would typically mean pilots should fly the standard 1000' AGL for the TPA. Odd how the local pilots fly an 800 AGL TPA there. I wonder how unsafe it is for pilots to fly at TPAs 200' apart (local pilots flying 800 AGL and transient pilots flying...
What's your home airport identifier? I always find it odd how such local practices begin. My first airport (GPM, contract tower class D underlying the DFW Bravo) did have an 800' AGL pattern altitude but it was documented in the chart supplement. TBH... I believe the AIM lays out...
This is very interesting. Personally I primarily review the charts, the supplements and then any data provided to me via a standard briefing. Generally, I would operate based on the information provided in those publications with the mindset of "if it's not documented, then use the standard TPA...
I like @N2715D 's suggestion to touch and hold for it to show. Stuff like this can be handy but it should be user-configurable. Automating it takes a bit of programming to consider multiple conditions. Although we could look at the preferred runway and then go into More Options and select the...
Oh I see now... you are talking about the difference in displayed altitude of the traffic near you. I was looking at the "ALT (AGL)" at the top of the screens in each screenshot. I'm sure the traffic displayed altitude data is from the ADS-B data stream associated with the target. I'd be...
I consider GPS altitude to be an estimate due to GPS drift. Your screenshots show a 20 ft difference between the two devices. Were you able to set both tablets to the same thing Cobra described and if so, do they show identical numbers afterward?
If the FAA's AFDs (or whatever their called now) are digitized and indexed, it would be nice if the AFD information about the airport could be brought up with a single click. I currently use another product on another iPad to bring up such info in flight.
The email does cover two different iFly EFB tablets. The first one (closest to the top of the email) and labeled "The iFly EFB X7 Aviation Tablet" is the newest iFly EFB tablet which is built on the Hugerock X7 tablet with iFly EFB installed plus some other hardware goodies. The second one...
