I am trying to find an effective kneeboard or strap for my EFB Tablet. I purchased the docking station with the unit but it was clearly for installing/mounting in an aircraft, and I fly too many different aircraft to do that. I have tried almost everything out there but the 1 inch thickness just doesn't fit securely enough to work. I even bought a around the neck contraption that kind of works but looks ridiculous and is way too big to carry around. I like the single leg strap with adjustable clips, but can't find one that will accommodate the 1 inch thickness. I can force the clip just enough to grab the edges, but it is not secure. In the cockpit you need the EFB held securely enough to be able to use just one hand to work the tablet. Maybe Velcro the fuzzy side on back of the tablet and the rough side on a knee pad? Ooh, ooh I will try it. Thanks for the help?

Since I purchased my first portable GPS in the late 90's I have always yoke mounted it, including today using a 740B or iPad Mini. I looked at the EFB and determined it is to big and heavy to yoke mount. I just ordered the X7 to try out.

Now, if I got an airplane with a stick, I would have to rethink this. I don't think I could see using it on a kneeboard, as I would rather have it in my normal sight of the panel or outside. Some form of RAM mount to structure or panel would be in order for me. I have not had good success with the window suction mounts.
