Anyone notice the 26%+ increase in pricing for annual subscription? I have been a 6 year customer and this seems excessive for a single year increase. I have fellow pilots, (ones I introduced to IFLY), that mentioned it and are looking for an alternative EFB.
I would think there would be a loyalty discount but the only thing I see is 4 months free for first time users, one month free plus 3 month extension.

It did seem a bit high last time I renewed, but didn't look into it. It's not like we can get it anywhere else.

IMHO, the current pricing is still a bargain. Taking into consideration all the improvements to the app over the last year or so the price for the product is well justified. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I noticed it in a recent renewal that happened to coincide with my Garmin Pilot renewal that would have cost me $109.99--call it $110.

(My Garmin Pilot U.S. standard subscription expired yesterday, and for various reasons I'm letting it lapse, after about 25 years (25 counting its predecessor, Pilot MyCast, which Garmin bought 15 or 20 years ago.)

Let's look at the economics from a different angle. According to a Wikipedia article, in 2020 the median income for fulltime U.S. workers was $56,287. That doesn't mean much by itself--but just for SOME kind of number, let's fudge it to $60,000 today to get some sort of ballpark perspective. To pay $60k a year to one fulltime Garmin Pilot employee, Garmin would need to sell roughly 60,000/110= 550 subscriptions at $110 each. (That's essentially all intellectual labor, because the product is software--no manufacturing involved.)

If we assume the same basic economics for Adventure Pilot employees, we get a roughly similar situation that ties number of employees to subscription price. Thinking that way, the iFly subscription doesn't seem excessive.

Maybe, but would you have preferred the 'frog in boiling water approach' and have had it go up by 5% a year over the last 5 years? Would it have made a real difference? Fuel is up, Maintenance is up, and look at what a Spark Plug costs now! I don't think you will find a better alternative that's "cheaper" too... IMHO. (And look at Garmin: if you use their equipment, you have to buy updated maps frequently -- those $$ alone equal our Annual Subscription rate for IFly!)
