Is iFly connect capable of updating the software version on the 740b model, and if so, what are the benefits of doing so?
Should iFly connect update software version on 740b?

Yes, it is. However, the iFly 7xx software is no longer being updated, so if you you're not being offered the option to update it, you probably already have the most recent version.
Going forward, only the Android, iOS, and Windows versions of the iFly software will be updated.
