Really having problems with the X7 tablet not locking in on wifi. At first it was intermittent now it's chronic. Tried everything. I understood that the iFly folks had the wifi chip replaced in their tablets because the originals were known for their wifi issues. I've reached out to support and they may need to eventually replace the unit but I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue?

So after much teeth gnashing and fumbling around, I believe I found the problem with my wi-fi connection reported on above. Below the available wi-fi connections on the Internet page off the Settings tab, is a Network Settings section and in that section is a "Turn on Wi-Fi automatically" setting. That setting needs to be OFF. Otherwise the software will continuously cycle the wi-fi network and not lock in for some reason. When I switched that off, it locked on to my home wi-fi and my Stratux (separately) and remained locked. I'm not sure what the reason is for the setting and the implications of leaving off, but it made my X7 wi-fi functional.

Is this in the iFlyEFB app settings or the OS (Android) settings?

It is in the Android OS.
For some odd reason, my Android 14 tablet doesn't have such a setting. I did Google it though and as for the reason, Google AI states: "Android 13 may turn on Wi-Fi automatically to connect to preferred networks, a feature designed to save mobile data by connecting to known Wi-Fi when you're in range."

"Why it happens:
  • Saving data:
The primary reason for this feature is to automatically switch to Wi-Fi when you enter an area with a saved, high-quality network, reducing your reliance on mobile data. "
