Progress report: powered up BT and X7 . Got to the setup and aligned NMEA data to be output. Appears that data being output. Next step will be to connect the RS232 wire and ground and see if it will feed the GRT.
I have been using the iFly BT NMEA out function for close to 200 hours now with my Android tablets and a TrioEZ Pilot with complete success, but with a DSD TECH SH-23A adapter. I have seen the failed BT connection message a few times before, but it only happens when I fail to close out (uncheck) the BT out connection in the set up menu prior to shutting down the iFly after my last flight. I get the exact messages in your last two screen shots. A power down and up of iFly and the BT adapter usually corrects the failure.
I think what causes the failure is that iFly remembers and is trying to connect to a previously closed socket on the adapter. While the last message says connection success the adapter LED blink sequence doesn't agree.
My start up sequence:
Power up Stratux, BT adapter, connect my android tablet to Stratux WiFi, open iFly and wait for Stratux to connect, Tap iFly setup, NMEA out settings, send to RS-232, and select my adapter.
My shut down sequence:
Power down Stratux, BT adapter, go to NMEA BT out in the setup menu and close out (uncheck) the RS-232 out connection in the set up menu, then exit iFly
I've never had a dropped connection with my setup. The thing I like about the DSD adapter is that just powers up with ships 5V, doesn't have to be touched and can be hidden. All of the connection process is done from my tablet.
I think you are close!
